Situated in the sand dunes overlooking False Bay in
Cape Town, our training centre provides students with
a healthy and interactive learning environment.
The main building has separate sleeping
quarters and washing facilities for men and women although
all activities are conducted in communal areas and syndicate
rooms. All meals are provided and special dietary needs
can be catered for depending on student requirements.
Students are required to report to the training centre
by 17h00 hours on the Sunday evening before the commencement
of the two week training programme. Students who have
completed the course will depart by 20h00 hours on the
second Sunday.
The course includes instruction in the following core
disciplines:
unarmed combat
weapons handling
first aid
secure communications
walking and vehicle escort drills
threat assessments
fitness training
location security
More specialised training is given in respect
of :
running an operations centre
embus / debus procedures
crowd control
technical countermeasures
venue security
liaison
Students will be expected to conduct night
exercises and will be given team assignments to complete
within rigorous timeframes.The courses are designed to
test and educate students so that they can operate efficiently
and effectively when faced with any type of scenario.
The courses are a challenge and not only develop individual
skills but also teach the importance of working within
the dynamics of a team.
